Wikipedia defines greenfield as “something that lacks constraints imposed by prior work. The analogy is to that of construction on greenfield land where there is no need to work within the constraints of existing buildings or infrastructure”. Merriam-Webster defines it as land not previously developed or polluted.
Yes, there are no constraints. However; there are basic elements to construction that, although have been improved upon, have not changed at the core. It is what you don’t see, what is below the surface, that makes the difference. Specifically, the foundation of construction including the footings, base, and cornerstone. Regardless of how the architecture changes over time to appeal to the trends of today, all buildings have basic concepts relating to their foundations that have been around for centuries.
Greenfield Leadership Consulting subscribes to this very thought process in relation to leadership. We are not old-school, and in-fact believe there are needs for adjusting leadership concepts to the times. However, adjustments are only minor tweaks. Core leadership competencies and practices have been established and proven for centuries and will not change.
What you will find with Greenfield Leadership Consulting is that we do not chase the latest trends, but instead focus on the authentic and sustainable. Consulting can sometimes be a dirty word in the executive conference room. Give us a chance to change that image and form a lasting partnership of winning, with people delivering sustainable results, through effective leadership.
